The end of the chesterfield canal is currently a bricked up tunnel. Met a guy today on the way back. He says that buildings above the tunnel have foundations that enter the tunnel so they can't re open it to "close the gap" (which is the name of the project to finish the refurbishment of Chesterfield canal). However, to combat this problem they plan to put a lock in which would rise you out of the tunnel and into a pool they are building. Sounds cool to me. I will return to chesterfield canal when that is finished.
Finger update...it still looks weird.
Setting off at 8 in the morning should be back at west Stockwith by the afternoon.
